The Moisture Trap

When airbrushing nails it is important that there isn't any moisture that can go onto the nails.

If any moisture does, it will ruin any airbrushing as nails are not absorbent to "soak up" the water. Your work will most probably be ruined.

Attached to the Compressor

These moisture traps are using part of an air regulator, the part that controls the pressure of air (called "psi").

The moisture that is produced from the compressor is stored in the moisture trap and can be cleaned out from the bottom of the trap once there is enough water build up.

A hose can be used so that this moisture trap is not attached to the compressor, thus allowing it to catch more moisture and is a good idea to do if you live in a high humid area. If using the moisture trap this way, you will need to keep it upright. Your weather conditions will determine whether you should have both when using this way.

On-Line Moisture Trap

These moisture traps are attached to your hose, approximately 3 feet from the compressor.

As the air leaves the compressor it cools down further and produces more moisture. If this moisture reaches the airbrush, it will end up on your client's nails and ruin any work you have already done. This moisture is trapped in the on-line moisture trap.

Depending on your weather, this moisture trap should be cleaned out periodically.
